March 8th is International Women's Day, and today I invite you to pause in celebration of the women around the world--especially the women in your life. And, to all the women reading this--are you celebrating yourself? If not, you should be!
Here in the Smokies, it's still wintry, but the emergence of spring is nigh. There's eagerness in the air for the spring ephemerals that bring hundreds of people to the area for the annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage. I've seen the first trillium leaves pop up in my yard, and the daffodils are nodding their cheery yellow bonnets. As a female creative entrepreneur, writer, and jewelry artist, I am in love with beauty that has the power to add greater depth and meaning to our everyday lives. I honor those who have paved the road for women to find equality, strength, healing, and love regardless of their backgrounds. The pursuit of peace and equality has everything to do with making jewelry for me, and these are the things I'll be thinking about this year as I develop my new collections. So many exciting things are underway, and I can't wait to share.
In the meantime, if you are in need of a good cry, try watching this episode of Marie TV, which shares the story of one woman's profound struggle to break the cycle of poverty that had been handed down generation after generation. It inspired me, and I hope it inspires you!
Tell me, who are the women you are celebrating today?
